Happy Islander Day! I hope that you had a great weekend to celebrate being an islander and to spend time with your family.
This past week, we made Creamy Dreamy Humus as part of our invisible forces unit. We are learning about healthy living to help fight off germs and microbes. All the students tried the humus and many even asked for more. Here is the recipe we used (although I didn't add the tahini or garlic) which is found on the Canada's Food Guide website, www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/canada-food-guide/tips-healthy-eating/meal-planning-cooking-healthy-choices/recipes/quick-easy-hummus.html I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. This week: Monday - No School - Islander Day Holiday Tuesday - Day 4, Music, Chef #11 Wednesday - Day 5, Phys Ed & Library, Chef #12 Thursday - Day 6, Music, Chef #13 Friday - Day 1, Phys Ed, Chef #14 We have entered our next formal evaluation period. This means I will be doing formal assessments in reading, writing, and math. I will be taking time from guided reading and writing workshops to complete all my assessments. Students may have a guided reading book for longer than usual. They are expected to change the other four books daily. Parent teacher interviews will be held March 7th and 8th. I will send home times again as they were changed due to the winter storm in November. Here are the sight words for
2s and 3s - Je fais, tu fais, il/elle/on fait, 3s only - nous faisons, vous faites, ils/elles font In math we are starting our measurement unit. We are continuing to learn about invisible forces, this week we will complete our internal forces and then next week move on to external forces. Please remember to complete a weekly lice check. Have a great week, Mme Bethany
