Happy Earth Week!
We will be learning this week about how our actions affect the environment and what we can do to become responsible environmentalists. If your child has a short video or a picture that they would like to share, maybe they have seen it on YouTube or in a magazine, please send it to me via email. We have finished our measurement unit and have moved onto data analysis. This goes well with our writing unit, writing opinions. Students are learning how to read data in diagrams and how to ask questions to find out more about the data. Please continue to practice multiplication (up to a product of 36) with third graders. As well, grade twos can practice adding and subtracting up to 100, with both regroupment and borrowing. Playing card games or games on the computer can be fun for students to learn this concepts. Thank you for all your donations towards the Easter Seals fundraiser. I will update when we have received a total from the office. Have fun in the rain this week and don't forget to look for worms. Just because :)

https://twitter.com/parker_grimmer/status/1118663764084183040 It's amazing that we are halfway through April. With the Easter bunny just around the corner, I sent home a colouring contest from Bulk Barn. The students had seen the one Will had completed and wanted their own. If you wish to enter their colouring page into the draw, please return it to BULK BARN by April 19th.
As a school we are fundraising for the Easter Seals. Our class will be holding a pyjama party on Wednesday (the 17th) and will participate with the whole school for Crazy Hair/Hat/Outfit day on Thursday (the 18th). Any monies sent in will be donated to the Easters Seals program to help them continue their support of many deserving charities in our community and province. Remember we have the long Easter weekend coming up, as such there are no classes on Friday the 19th nor Monday the 22nd. We will be celebrating Earth Week when we return on the 23rd. Have a wonderful week! I hope you don't get too wet. Thank you for helping your child send in pieces of their collections. We will be using them to help us develop our opinions this week. Books that you could read at home that model opinions are Mo Willems Pigeon series. I have added a couple links to stories online, please see La Lecture page for these.
